What is better a CD Account or a Money Market account?

Right now Citi Bank has a really good CD 6 months 5.0%apy or should i do a money Market which i dont know too much about?

Compare the interest rates between them. Money markets invests in debt securities (such as government bonds) and may sometime perform better than a CD account.

I don't particularly like CDs because you have to hold the money in there for a period of time before you can take it out. Money markets are easily liquidable.
Reply:CD is a better deal if interest rates are going down, because they lock in the rate. But you can't access your money during the term. The good news is it's FDIC insured.

Money Market is better if interest rates are going up, because they change interest rate every week. They are not FDIC insured.

Personally, I prefer Money Markets.
Reply:Money Market account
Reply:A money market is just like a savings account but with a higher interest rate. You can take money out but are limited in the number of times you do this. I would say a money market is best, you can open on up online, at HSBC or even i think citi bank and get a 5%. There are a few out there that even have higher. Look in your local paper or check online at bankrate.com, to find the best rate.
