Is there a way to install programs so they are only visible by my account?

Don't worry it's not for innopropriate reasons. I am curious if there is a way to download or install things so they can only be found or run by my computer's account? I am using Windows Vista.

when you installed a program pick only me instead of all users.
Reply:It depends on the application. Some can be installed locally and others can't.

For example Firefox can be installed on a user's account, all you'd have to do is just be logged in to that account when you run the installer.

Something like Microsoft Office though alters system files and the like, and will have to be a global installation.

And yet others will give you the option during the installation process.

You can always try running the installer on a Non-superuser account, if it works, then it can be installed locally. If it refuses, and/or mentions something about having permissions, then it can only be installed globally.
Reply:That mostly depends on the software. Some programs give you the option of only installing it on your account but I'm not really sure how to manually do that.
Reply:I think it is possible with the exception of the Administrator account. That account will have total view of everything that is on the computer.

Unfortunately I don't know how this is done and can't offer any assistance.
